An agent’s photograph is worked harder than almost any other professional portrait. It is a thumbnail beside a listing, a full-width banner on an agency page, a printed card in a window and a small circle at the top of a message thread with a buyer. Very few photographs survive all four, which is why agents so often end up with a different picture in each place. This page is about the format itself: what an agent photo has to do, and how a whole agency gets one that does it.

From a phone

A few selfies in, a headshot out.

Each person sends a handful of selfies from wherever they are. It takes about five minutes on a phone, with no studio to book and no photographer to schedule.

It has to read at thumbnail size

Most of the time an agent’s photo is displayed smaller than a postage stamp, next to a price and a room count that are competing for the same attention. At that size the only things that survive are the crop and the contrast between the face and the background.

A photograph taken in a bright office with a window behind it disappears; a tightly framed one against a plain backdrop still reads. Generating the agency inside a single style fixes the framing and the background for everyone, so no agent is invisible in a search result.

The catalogue

Pick a style once. It applies to everyone.

And still hold up printed on a card

The same picture then has to be printed at a size where every flaw is visible, on a card in a window or a property brochure. That rules out phone screenshots and photographs recovered from social media, which is what agents usually reach for under deadline.

Each person here receives 40 full-size frames and chooses one, so the file that goes to the printer is the same file that went to the portal. When a brand template is defined, a branded profile picture at two sizes is produced for the digital side as well.

Fast enough to keep up with the team

Estate agency turnover means a photograph is needed the week somebody starts, not the quarter after. An admin invites the new agent by email or hands them an open link limited to the agency domain; they consent, upload selfies from their phone and have 40 headshots about an hour later, in the same style as everyone already on the site.

Each agent draws one credit on their own, so no group has to be assembled and no minimum booking has to be justified to the office.

The result

Everyone, in the same light.

Choose a backdrop and an outfit once. Every person who joins is generated inside that style, so the team page finally looks like one team rather than a collage of whoever had a photo.

Frequently asked questions

Can agents keep their photo if they change agency?

They download their own photographs, so what they have already saved stays with them. The agency can delete a member’s data, and the person can also request deletion themselves from the private page in their invite.

Will the agency logo appear on the photo?

Only if you define a brand template. With one in place, a branded version appears next to the plain headshots in two sizes, cropped round, rounded or square, and carrying a ring, badge and logo if the agency wants them.

Can the office check the photo before it goes on a portal?

With approval on, nothing reaches the agent until an admin has looked at it. Send a set back with a reason and the agent gets another attempt at no charge; the agency archive contains only the agents who cleared review.

What does one agent cost?

One credit, $39. An agency buying five at a time already pays less than that, twenty-five lowers it again, and a network buying a hundred lowers it further still.

Give the whole team the same headshot, without the shoot day.

Free to set up: you only pay when you buy credits. There is no subscription, and you don't need a card to start.
